Computer Basics

Learn computer basics and the many features of Windows 10. Course content includes: tools and options available for computer personalization, how to create and manage files and folders, and the use of multiple applications within Windows (such as Edge - Microsoft's new internet browser). In addition, learn customization techniques and how to enhance system performance.
Excel
Level 1 (View Table of Contents)
Excel is a powerful and user-friendly spreadsheet program that allows you to enter, calculate, organize and analyze data. In level 1, you will learn the basics of creating, navigating, saving and moving between spreadsheets. Become familiar with Microsoft's interface (ribbons and controls groups). This course will also cover: working with data; entering simple formulas; editing data and cells; formatting a worksheet; page setup; printing; and more.
REQUIREMENTS: Basic computer skills (file and folder management, cut, copy, and paste, etc.) are required to take this class. If you do not have these pre-requisite skills, please register for our class.
Level 2 (View Table of Contents)
This class is for those who have been using Excel on a regular basis and have knowledge
of formulas. Topics covered include: advanced formulas and functions (financial, logical,
date/time), relative and absolute references, working with multiple worksheets, using
3D formulas and references; working with tables; the total row; sorting; filtering;
data validation and subtotaling; and much more.
REQUIREMENTS: Completion of Excel - Level 1 and/or working knowledge of Excel.
Level 3 (View Table of Contents)
This class is for the advanced user of Excel. Topics include custom and conditional
formatting; working with ranges, including VLOOKUP; date and time functions; working
with charts; managing workbooks; and more.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have taken Excel Level 2 to register for this class or have knowledge of all
topics within level 2.
Level 4 (View Table of Contents)
This class is for the more advanced user of Excel. Topics include converting text to columns, linking to another file, working with macros, creating pivot tables and pivot charts, summarizing data, subtotaling, advanced filtering, data validation; data analysis; goal seek, solver, scenarios, data tables, and more.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have taken Excel Level 2 to register for this class or have knowledge of all topics within level 2.
Outlook

Microsoft's Outlook email program. Training covers setting up an email account; composing, sending, and receiving emails; working with contacts & calendars. Dive a little deeper with setting up rules, quick steps, tasks, and to-do lists.

PowerPoint
Level 1 (View Table of Contents)
PowerPoint presentations are excellent communication tools. This interactive class
will help participants learn how to create effective presentations and become familiar
with Microsoft's interface (ribbons and controls groups). Topics include: working
with slides; inserting & modifying text; working with graphics, objects, tables &
charts; and presentation output.
REQUIREMENTS: Basic computer skills (file and folder management, cut, copy, & paste, etc.) are required
to take this class. If you do not have these pre-requisite skills, please register
for our class.
Level 2 (View Table of Contents)
For those who are already using PowerPoint, this next level covers: customizing a
presentation with themes, backgrounds and effects; animation techniques; working with
data from other sources; managing and delivering your presentation; and presenting
on the web.
REQUIREMENTS: Completion of PowerPoint - Level 1 and/or working knowledge of PowerPoint.
