The Business Management, Risk Management and Insurance Services Program provides students the opportunity to gain fundamental knowledge and skills in business and the specialty areas of risk management and insurance.

Students can take classes in the classroom or online to create a schedule that works for them and will have a program manager to guide them throughout their academic journey. The Risk Management and Insurance industry offer tremendous opportunities for a variety of types of work, with excellent potential for career advancement and monetary rewards. Whether a student is already working in the field and wants to take advantage of the advancement afforded with an AS degree, or a student is just starting out in business and wants to get started on the ground floor in this industry, this program will work for them.

Risk Management and Insurance Operations [3041]


Certificate (18 Credit Hours)

This certificate program will prepare students for further education and employment in the Insurance career cluster. The program is designed to develop the student’s general employability by improving their work attitudes, communication, critical thinking, technical skills, problem-solving skills, and occupation-specific skills relative to insurance sales. The program content is broad-based to reflect the cross-functional relationships prevalent in risk management and insurance.

As a Sarasota or Manatee county school student, you may have taken career, technical or academy classes at your high school or technical college. Through a career pathways agreement between Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµappand the local school districts, students can receive college credit for the work they’ve completed.
